Air Jaws

Somewhere in the African waters, a mischievous mermaid pushes a great white a little too far...

I drew this watching "Air Jaws" on Discovery's Shark Week. ::shudders:: I love watching things about sharks, but they freak me out!

But before you tell me all the horrible things wrong with this picture, I'll have you know a few things:

1) I HATE drawing water and never do it.

2) I HATE stippling (totally ruined my brush pen for the sake of art) and never do it.

3) I KNOW her body is all twisty and weird. I was trying to depict what the seals look like with they're twisting and turning through the air to escape.

4) And I experimented with painting with ink (the shark), and this was my first attempt. Didn't come out great, but oh well.

5) Oh. And this was the first time I've ever drawn a shark.

6) And last but not least, when I see this shark’s mouth, thanks to my random mind, I can hear him singing beautiful opera. Now you can’t take this picture seriously, can you?

There. I'm off my soap box. JUMP LITTLE MERMAID, JUMP LIKE YOU'VE NEVER JUMPED BEFORE!!!
